Steady Beat Boss

Luke received the, "Steady Beat Boss" award in PE this week! I asked him what that was and he said it's the person who keeps the beat for the rest of the class by stomping their feet, clapping their hands or slapping their legs! I am not surprised Luke was give this award.  He's definitely musically inclined. He loves rapping, break dancing, singing, etc. If I had to guess now, I would say one day he may very well do something with music for a living.  Interesting to see what his gifts & talents are as he grows.

Cardinals Win 1st Game in Playoffs!

Luke's team, the Cardinals, won their first game in the 2012 play off series!  It was a great game, 10-7, with each inning finding the other team on top. In the end, Luke hit a home run and drove several of his teammates home. The other players made good hits too, putting the Cardinals on top at the end of the game! Way to go team!!

Mother's Day 2012

Today is Sunday, Mother's Day 2012. What a wonderful day! We had brunch at our house with the extended family.  Nana is here visiting, Memaw & Papaw were  here and so were Jeremy, Sarah & Graham.

I spent yesterday planning & preparing an amazing spread of food.  Mini apple tarts, zucchini bread fresh from the garden, sausage rolls & a bacon, egg, cheese casserole.  We had fresh coffee & orange/pineapple juice.

All the grandson's had fun playing together in the tent we have set up outside & jumping in the trampoline. Luke is almost 7, Noah is almost 4, Cruz is almost 18 months and Graham turns 3 next month. The initial sonogram from Sarah shows 90% boy, so we're having fun dreaming about what a family with 5 boys will be like...basketball team, boy band - the list goes on.

I'm weaving my mother's ring, my picture necklace of the boys, my family charm bracelet...and just for today, my grandmother's mother's ring. Past memories, present fun, they are all blessings in my eyes.

Happy Mother's Day!!
XOXOXOXOX

Cruz's 1st Salon Haircut!

Took my Cruzie for his first big-boy haircut at the salon today. He didn't much like all the hair falling in his face or care for the scissors tickling his neck, but he sure is handsome now that it's over. Perfection wasn't the goal; just getting those long strands out of his eyes was enough for me. My sweet baby is getting so big. Everyday is such a blessing, but these milestones sure are bittersweet!

Mommy & Me with Noah - The Wedding of Q & U

Mommy & Me day is always such a precious time at the Learning Academy Preschool. This year I went with Noah to the wedding of Q & U!  We dressed in our best summertime wedding attire & attended the ceremony complete with flower girls, ring boys, the bride & groom. After, we danced to favorites such as The Hokey Pokey, The Tootie-Ta, The Twist & The Macarena.  We also enjoyed mini cupcakes, cookies & punch at the reception.  Such a fun morning making memories with my Sweet Angel. Everyday with this boy brings new gifts of smiles & laughter. I <3 this boy!!

Tubby Time with Cruz

There's just nothing cuter than a baby in the tub! With Cruz's upcoming 1st "real" haircut, I couldn't resist snapping a few pics of his crazy, long hair when I was bathing him the other night. His hair is all the more special to me because we buzz cut the big boys' hair. I just love running my fingers through Cruz's hair when we snuggle! I think it must relax Cruz too because when he's about ready to nap or go to bed for the night he lays in my arms so sweetly as I sing to him & rub his head! My sweet baby! Growing up way to fast!!

1st Harvest of 2012

Gosh, I need to start blogging again! Life with 3 little boys is soooo crazy busy. I really can't begin to even describe just how full, exhausting & joyful it is. I know I'm going to look back and wish I had written things down, saved more pictures, documented the funny & gross things that happen everyday. So, I'm starting with today. I may go back and backdate a few posts. But today, Thursday, May 10th, this is what's going on... Nana is here visiting. Noah stayed home to have some special time with her and this morning we picked our first harvest of 2012 from the garden. I was delighted to pick two nice zucchini, 3 squash, 2 different varieties of cucumbers & a handful of greenbeans. Looks like we'll be having some fresh veggies with dinner. Now, if our 5 tomato plants would set some fruit! What fun we have in the garden - from planting little seeds to nurturing baby plants to tasting the fruits of our labor - the garden has been a great family activity! So glad we gave it a try!
