Summer of VBS' - WUMC

This week was the second week of VBS' for Luke, Noah & Lil' Luke! Wylie United Methodist Church's theme was Sky - Everything is Possible with God.

The boys had a great time playing, learning scriptures, singing, snacking & making arts & crafts. Noah & Luke both come home singing, "Be strong, don't be afraid, God is with you always."

After Luke accepting Jesus as his Savior in to his heart last week at FBC VBS, he took great pride in listening to his heart when he needed to make a decision this week. I have been amazed at how he will stop to think about how he can be a peacemaker. Sometimes that means giving his brother a toy, other times it's walking away from a fight and saying, "I love you too much to argue."

So proud of my boys & happy they are learning &  having fun this summer! Their little hearts are so sweet. I'm extremely grateful we have so many opportunities to expose them to different churches & Jesus.

Budding Artists!

Luke and Noah had some creative fun on the patio today with their paints! We set up the art easel and each brother had their own side to paint to their hearts desire.

Luke decided to paint his favorite Pokemon characters.

Noah couldn't decide which color to use - so he used them all at once!

Setting up and cleaning up took as long as the painting itself did, but the smiles on their faces made it all worth it!  Who knows, maybe I'm fostering the next Picasso!

Cardinals Clinch 2nd Place!

Even though he had the flu and missed the last game of the playoffs, I'm so proud of Luke & his team, The Cardinals, for clinching 2nd place overall in the coach pitch league 2012!

He received a nice trophy from the Wylie Baseball Association and a metal from coach Bryce.

It was an exciting final game, with both teams on top during different innings. It was also a stellar year - many skills & techniques learned and great improvements made.

We're looking forward to returning to the same team this Fall!

GO CARDINALS!

Luke Becomes A Christian

Luke doesn't look very happy in this picture because he came home sick from VBS today. But, he also came home completely reborn! Yes, that's right! All by himself, Luke asked to speak to the pastor because he wanted to get baptized. The Pastor talked with him & they prayed for Jesus to come in to Luke's heart.  This is literally the best day of my life so far. Don't mistake, there are many other wonderful days, like the day each of my boys were born.  But, there will never be a more important day in my life than the day each of my boys accept Christ as their Savior. I have literally prayed for this day, every day, since they were born. There is truly nothing more important to me. I can't stop praising God and I can't stop crying. I'm so proud, relieved, excited, over-joyed, grateful, humbled, amazed - the list goes on. Praise be to God for this day!! I know it's been written in the heavens since the beginning of time, but it's never been more real for me!

Luke's Last Day as a 1st Grader

Today is Luke's last day of 1st grade! It's a beautiful day and perfect for the fun activities they  have planned at school. There will be lots of outside water play - we had to pack a towel & change of clothes! Hard to believe my honey bunny will be 7 soon. The time is already passing so quickly. Every moment is such a gift!
