Luke was SO excited this morning when I told him our first cucumber was ready to pick! We have been eagerly watching it grow for two weeks now. He carefully twisted and pulled until it popped right off the vine.
We immediately came inside to wash and slice it. Luke could not wait to eat "his" cucumber. We also gathered a handful of green beans...just enough for our lunch today.
Tomorrow we should be able to pick another cucumber, as one is growing and just about ready to eat. We also have no less than 5 cantaloupes, two tomatoes and literally dozens of little cucumbers growing!
Each day is like a new surprise when we go out to water the garden and see what is ready for us. This has been the greatest project for the boys! Such fun!!
